Blackpool midfielder Matt Phillips will be pushing for a start as the Seasiders welcome Derby.
Phillips came off the bench in Sunday`s 2-1 victory over Peterborough, after returning from England duty at the Under-20s World Cup in Colombia, but manager Ian Holloway may be reluctant to change a starting eleven which has won both of their two opening league games.
Goalkeeper Matt Gilks admitted that he played through the pain barrier against Peterborough with ankle trouble
The 29-year-old was forced to withdraw from the Scotland squad last week and was a major doubt for Saturday's game but should be back to full fitness for the Derby fixture.
Midfielders Chris Basham and Tom Ince both impressed in the league cup defeat at Sheffield Wednesday on Thursday, and may push for a place on Holloway's bench.
Derby midfielder James Bailey is doubtful for the midweek trip after suffering an ankle injury.
The 22-year-old twisted his ankle early on in the Rams' 1-0 win at Watford on Saturday and was replaced at half-time by Republic of Ireland under-21 international Jeff Hendrick, who is expected to deputise for Bailey.
Jamie Ward continues to receive treatment on a hamstring injury, but fellow striker Steve Davies is expected to be fit after taking a knock on the shin during the first half at Watford.
He was replaced around the hour mark, but manager Nigel Clough said: "Steven should be OK.''
Central defender Chris Riggott is still some way off a first-team opportunity.
The 30-year-old is current nursing a sore Achilles tendon but is expected to play for the reserve side on Wednesday.
Shaun Barker (knee), Conor Doyle (ankle), Dave Martin (ankle), Russell Anderson (groin) and goalkeeper Saul Deeney (shoulder) all remain unavailable.
