Wow. Wow. Wow. What a dress.
Just have to take a moment today to admire (and pay tribute to!) First Lady Michelle Obama’s beautiful gown. She looked like a goddess at last night’s State Dinner at Buckingham Palace in London!
The ruched, ivory, georgette evening gown with ribbon details is by Tom Ford, one of several American designers she has worn during her visit to the UK. Stunning.
Insert whistle here.
The ultra flattering gown showed off Mrs. Obama’s toned arms and shoulders. The First Lady wore her hair in an up-do with long, dangly earrings. She paired the gown with old school long white gloves and a small jeweled clutch for the dinner, which capped off the whirlwind two day tour of the UK at the invitation of Queen Elizabeth.
The Queen wore white, as is the tradition for a State occasion. She went with a Swarovski-embellished silk crepe evening gown by Stewart Parvin and the Vladimir diamond and pearl tiara. (How fun would it be to have an entire wardrobe of jewels to choose from!?)
The State Dinner took place in the grand ballroom of Buckingham Palace and Tom Hanks, Kevin Spacey and Helena Bonham-Carter were also among the 170 guests.
As for the First Lady, she is on a roll. She’s worn one chic designer outfit after another during her visit, but this Tom Ford takes the cake. Flawless.
